Congratulating Lisa Burdeyny - New Assistant Superintendent

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Burdeyny as Assistant Superintendent, effective immediately.

Lisa has been an integral part of the Abbotsford School District since 1994, serving in a variety of roles that span both school-based and district-level leadership. Her career has included teaching positions at Abbotsford Middle and Senior Secondary Schools; serving as Vice Principal at Yale and Abbotsford Senior Secondary Schools; Principal at Rick Hansen Secondary School; and, most recently, District Principal, Human Resources.

Recognized for her collaborative approach and steadfast dedication to student success, Lisa has championed initiatives that support staff development, student engagement, and community partnerships. Her leadership has encompassed instructional development, staffing and recruitment, mentorship, and strategic planning - work that has consistently fostered inclusive, innovative, and high-performing learning environments.

“Lisa’s wealth of experience, combined with her deep commitment to the success of students and staff, will be a tremendous asset to our district leadership team,” said Dr. Nathan Ngieng, Superintendent of Schools. “Her proven ability to lead with integrity, vision, and collaboration will continue to strengthen our learning community.”
