Steve Stobbe Joins Abby Schools as New IT Director

The Abbotsford School District is pleased to announce Steve Stobbe's appointment as the new IT Director, effective December 1, 2025. 

Steve is a familiar face to many in Abbotsford. He previously served as Manager of IT Infrastructure from 2020 to 2023 before moving to the Surrey School District, where he took on the role of Director of Cybersecurity. His return to Abbotsford reflects a strong alignment between his expertise and the District’s vision for secure, efficient, and innovative learning environments.

With more than twenty years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, and infrastructure leadership, Steve brings a depth of knowledge that will further strengthen districtwide technology systems. His work has included leading large-scale technology upgrades, developing comprehensive cybersecurity programs, and advancing digital transformation initiatives that support strategic planning and operational excellence.

The Abbotsford School District's Senior Leadership team plays a pivotal role in advancing the Board of Education's strategic plan and vision of providing a world-class, innovative, and individualized educational experience for every student.
