District Dogwood Scholarship Projects

There was a flurry of activity around Abbotsford Senior and the Abbotsford Arts Centre on April 21, as the annual District Authority Awards/Scholarships Day was held. Adjudicators spent the day interviewing and reviewing over 150 student projects in a variety of categories including: visual and performing arts, TV and film media, creative writing, digital technology, indigenous and international languages, physical activity and event planning. Students must spend 100 hours over and above class time on their project to qualify. Successful award recipients are announced in early fall, receiving a cheque for $500, plus a $500 voucher that can be redeemed when the student enters a designated post-secondary institution. Below are some photo from the day showing a diversity of projects/performances!

Éy swáyel. We acknowledge that the Abbotsford School District is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Stó:lō people, the Semá:th and Mathxwí First Nation. With this, we respect the longstanding relationships that Indigenous Nations have to this land, as they are the original caretakers.
