Lieutenant Governor of BC visits Dormick Park Elementary

On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, visited Dormick Park Elementary as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation. The Lieutenant Governor plans to visit 150 schools throughout British Columbia in 2017.

“Being selected as one of the schools for this celebration was such an honour for us,” noted Lisa Lainchbury, Principal of Dormick Park Elementary. “We knew this would be a great opportunity for our students to ask questions and learn more about the Canadian Crown.”

The school hosted an assembly for the Lieutenant Governor and heard her speak about Canada’s constitutional monarchy and what a “day-in-the-life” of the Lieutenant Governor of BC looks like.
